About

Welcome to the Cowley Convoy the hottest new club for all cars BMC/BL MG/Rover,
We started life in 2011 with a small convoy of 14 cars leaving from Cowley’s MINI Plant Oxford going to The Pride of Longbridge. This was to celebrate the history of the Great British Motor industry that was BMC, British Leyland, Austin Morris, Austin Rover, Rover Group , and the Cowley Heritage. It was originally suited to all cars with a Cowley connection (not just those that were built at Cowley)

In 2012 we trebled the numbers and some 45 cars left Cowley and convoyed to Longbridge, Birmingham for the Pride of Longbridge, everything from a Morris Minor to a Rover SD1, an Austin Metro to a Triumph Spitfire!

After the event the Facebook page was full of ideas and interest from the members of the convoy wanting to know if and when the next event would be, so it was decided to turn it in to a full time car club and to continue to celebrate our history.

So in May 2012 our new Website was launched and the club became official, please have a look around our website and look at future events (it’s always changing)

It is our plan to organise more convoys to other events, car shows, museums, places of interest across the country and even a “carry on Cowley” annual camping weekend in aid of good causes.

If you’re not sure if your vehicle can join, just ask , we will try and include everyone, and remember you don’t have to own a car to join, just an interest in celebrating the cars, the history and above all have fun. We are a club that is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts!

So come on join the Convoy, who knows where it will lead! And remember British is Best!
